Weekly Bible Study – Inspired by Celtic Christians, part 1
What can we learn from the ancient Celtic Christians? This week we meet Columba, an Irish monk who founded many monasteries but found himself in exile on a remote island. What did he do? He turned it into a "thin place," where God's presence was felt more closely. He built a monastery, Iona, that welcomed all people to come, pray, work, and then be sent out as missionaries. We think about how the mission of Iona and the spirituality of the Celtic Christians can inspire us today.
