Gathering Music

Bach and Scarlatti (both born in 1685) drew inspiration from dance forms.  Bach mostly used formal, courtly forms like the Gavotte and Allemande, though he wrote many Gigue (jigs).  Scarlatti loved the peasant musical culture of his native Italy and adoptive Spain.  K 519 is a Tarantella, a fast, hopping, spinning Italian dance.
